Izhorskiye Zavody Greets Indian Delegation

Izhorskiye Zavody, a part of OMZ group, welcomed an Indian delegation headed by the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of India Pundi Srinivasan Raghavan.

During the visit the guests and representatives of Izhorskie Zavody discussed opportunities for cooperation, particularly for delivery of Izhora-produced equipment to Indian nuclear sites. The foreign delegation also witnessed a full presentation of Izhorskiye Zavody.

Izhorskiye Zavody was the main contractor for primary coolant system equipment of two Kudankulam NPP power units, including VVER-1000 reactor unit. In January 2014 the first power unit was set to generate 75% of its full capacity. Launch of the second power unit is scheduled for September this year.

In April Russia and India signed a general framework agreement for the second phase of Kudankulam NPP construction, which includes building of third and fourth power units. Construction of fifth and sixth units is currently negotiated.
