OMZ Special Steels Successfully Passed Bureau Veritas Certification Procedures

OMZ Special Steels, part of OMZ Group, successfully passed certifications procedures for shipbuilding steel forging. Certification was conducted by French classification society Bureau Veritas (BV). The certificate obtained allows OMZ Special Steels to manufacture forgings out of carbon, carbon manganic and alloy steels used in shipbuilding in accordance with BV standards. BV certificate is valid until August 16, 2017.
Bureau Veritas established in France in 1828 is a known and reputable classification society which proclaims high shipbuilding standards, develops shipbuilding regulations and technological durability standards for ships. Ships are classified in compliance with these standards.
The examination of OMZ Special Steels production confirms high standards of its metallurgical blanks for shipbuilding industry and allows the company to cooperate with Russian as well as with foreign shipbuilding enterprises.
OMZ Special Steels also has certificates for shipbuilding production of the following classification societies, members of International Association of Classification Societies IACS:
Russian Maritime Register of Shipping  (RMRS, Russia), Lloyd's Register of Shipping (LR, UK), Germanischer Lloyd (GL, Germany), Det Norske Veritas (DNV, Norway), Bureau Veritas (BV, France), American Bureau of Shipping (ABS, USA), Registro Italiano Navale (RINA, Italy), and Russian River Register (RRR, Russia).
