High quality of welds and sealing surfaces was confirmed during hydrostatic tests. This verification system allows to give assurances that the products manufactured by Izhorskiye Zavody meet all the requirements of design and production process documentation and are ready for failure-free service during operation.
A Contract for the manufacture of equipment for the fourth unit of Kudankulam NPP was signed in June 2016. Under the Contract Izhorskiye Zavody will supply a set of the equipment, including VVER-1000 Reactor Vessel with internals and an upper block, support and thrust rings, main sealing parts, surveillance specimens, as well as an upper block aligner.
The successful cooperation between IZ and its Indian partners in the sphere of nuclear power industry began in 2002, when Izhorskiye Zavody started manufacturing vessel equipment for the first stage of Kudankulam NPP. The Company delivered the primary circuit equipment for the first two NPP Units, including nuclear reactor vessels and internals and transport locks for refueling and scheduled maintenance. Production of the equipment was completed in 2008. The first Unit of Kudankulam NPP was put into operation in 2013 and the second Unit - in 2016.
At present, equipment for the third, the fourth, the fifth and the sixth Units of Kudankulam NPP is in various stages of production at Izhorskiye Zavody.
